Helping People Create Southeast Asia in Their Kitchen

 

It all started in Thailand - as any story that ends in Thai curry should. Like many who travel to Thailand and Southeast Asia,  Michelle Chick, founder of Thai Manna, was blown away by the food. From roadside food stalls to bustling night markets, every dish she tasted came alive with spices and aroma. She returned home with more than a few stamps on her passport. She came back to Calgary with a passion for Thai cuisine.

She started by sharing her passion by cooking Thai food in her kitchen and inviting loved ones over to share the meal. Michelle then transitioned into making little kits which included all the ingredients needed for a Thai dish and giving them as gifts to her friends and family. She wanted them to share in the joy of working with Thai flavours in their own kitchens—without the overwhelming task of finding exotic ingredients and recipes.

As time went on, this gift-idea turned into a viable business plan. Her vision to share authentic, fresh and delicious Thai dishes with those around her expanded. Today she owns Thai Manna and sells her signature Thai Curry Kits online and in multiple retail locations throughout Calgary and the surrounding area.

 
 

What are
Thai Curry Kits?

Our Thai Curry Kits include our homemade curry paste and quality hard-to-find ingredients like palm sugar, fish sauce, bird’s eye chilies, coconut milk and lime leaves. All you need is a kit, then you add your protein and veggies for a divinely fresh homemade Thai curry.

+ Homemade, Preservative-Free Curry Pastes

With all of the ingredients we select, we choose fresh, natural, real food whenever possible. Our curry pastes are no exception. We hand make all of our curry pastes, without using any preservatives - so you get all the flavour without any of the unpronounceable ingredients you might read on a grocery store curry jar.

+ Cook Whenever You Want

Our kits are designed to have a long shelf life so you can save them for when you’re ready. Your curry kit can be placed in the refrigerator up to 10 days or 6 months in the freezer. The rice, fish sauce and palm sugar in your kit does not need to be refrigerated or frozen, but putting the whole kit in the fridge or freezer saves you from looking for individual ingredients later.

+ Control the Spice Factor

Can’t take the heat? Cooking for kids? No problem! We believe everyone should be able to enjoy Thai food, regardless of how much spice they can handle. That’s why we make each of our curry pastes very mild and include birdseye or crushed chilis in the kit, leaving you in full control of how much spice you add to your dish.

+ Customize to Your Needs

We know finding quick and easy, but also exciting and new dinner options for people with food allergies, sensitivities or dietary restrictions can be challenging. So we made our Thai Curry Kits as accommodating as possible. All of our curries are dairy-free and most are gluten-free. We also leave you in full control of the protein you select and the ways you use the ingredients in your kit, so you can make your dinner vegetarian, diabetic and allergy friendly.
